About the library

It is a social and cultural institution that aims to collect and develop information through various methods such as depositing, borrowing, and exchange. It is based on a specific system of arrangement, classification, and indexing of books in their various places. It can be defined as a place that contains books, references, and materials dealing with various topics available to all community members that facilitates studying, reading, conducting scientific research in addition to guidance provision.

University library:

A university library is normally a library that is established and managed by universities in order to help students obtain various information and library services in a way that suits their objectives. It provides lending and deposit services through qualified human staff from the technical, artistic and scientific aspects in the field of libraries and aims to achieve the following things:

*Providing the appropriate atmosphere for students to conduct research and study inside the library.

* Providing students with references of knowledge in various scientific disciplines.

* Communicating with other institutions in order to exchange printed and electronic university materials

Vision

The Central Library contributes to developing the University’s future educational course of action with products that carry academic features and notable support services according to international university standards.

Objectives

The central library derives its nature and functions from the university itself because it is an integral part of it and one of the means of its movement and continuity. It is the closer among all departments to the University’s academic and research programs. Accordingly, the objectives of Al-Zahraa University Library can be summarized as follows:

Supporting the educational and research process for the University’s female students, encouraging and supporting scientific research, and encouraging self-education for female students and community service through the following:

• . Providing books and references and putting them at the disposal of students and researchers.

• Organizing these references through technical procedures of registration, indexing, and classification, and paper preparation as well as electronic indeces in accordance with international and international standards.

• Actual participation in the cultural activities of colleges and the university, including activities related to reading and writing, and competitions inside and outside the university.

• Providing electronic information services and guiding beneficiaries to what they need from digital libraries. • Introducing the intellectual production of university professors and researchers by acquiring copies of their publications, donating them, and exchanging them with other universities and cultural institutions.

• Organizing seminars, conferences and seminars for university students. • Supporting scientific research by providing references of scientific and research information to various segments of the university community.
