10- From Britain to Karbala, a British researcher classifies Al-Zahraa as one of the acclaimed universities in terms urban construction and academic development.


British academic and researcher (Dr. Chris Hewer) visited the premises of Al-Zahraa University for Women. He expressed his admiration for the notable scientific and urban development that characterizes the university during his inspection and exploratory tour
He also commended the laudable efforts made by the holy shrines in the realization of such brilliant projects with great potential.
Dr. Hewer visited classrooms, laboratories, corridors and departments and the central library among other facilities as he toured of the university building.
In his statement, Dr. Hewer noted that the edifice of the university clearly denotes the Islamic character that displays the identity of the city on whose holy land it was constructed. He also noted that establishment of the university explicitly indicates that the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein was not only concerned with the provision of service and their medical and logistical aspects, but is also involved in making university education accessible to the segment of female students as part of its societal commitment and educational mission.
It is worth noting that Al-Zahraa University is the first university of its kind in Iraq, especially for female students. It is affiliated with the Department of University Education at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. It was officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in 2018. It consists of three Faculties: the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies, and the Faculty of Pharmacy that occupy (40) classrooms, (26) scientific laboratories, and two scientific research laboratories, in addition to administrative buildings and dormitories, which consist of (3) buildings with (4) floors in each building.
