Central Library at Al-Zahraa University for Women Ranks First as Best Central Library at Iraqi Science Day Festival


In an outstanding academic achievement, Al-Zahraa University for Women ranked first as the best central library among government and private universities during the Iraqi Science Day Festival which was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This recognition is a testament to the tremendous efforts being exerted by the University’s Central Library management in providing modern knowledge resources, along with substantial support from the University’s presidency and senior staff. It is important to point out that the library has adopted best practices in library management and prioritized the development of services for female students and researchers alike.

The award ceremony took place in Baghdad. His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, presented the awards to the winning universities. Prof Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President

of Al-Zahraa University for Women, received the award for the top-grade central library in Iraq in excellence and development. She expressed her delight at such accomplishment, emphasizing that the recognition reflected the University’s commitment to academic and research excellence standards, in addition to its endeavors to provide a comprehensive educational environment in conformity with global advancements.
Dr. Al-Sultani further added that the attained success would not have been possible without the collective efforts exerted by the University’s academic and administrative staff. She commended as well the vital role played by Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Jadoo, Assistant for scientific affairs and Mrs. Hanan Farooq, Central Library Director, and praised their diligent follow-up and dedication in achieving such a significant milestone. Their work reflected a spirit of commitment to best services provision in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in line with global university libraries development. She affirmed the University’s ongoing support for the Central Library so as to remain a beacon of knowledge, eventually contributing to the nurture of educated and aware generation.

It is noteworthy that Iraqi Science Day Festival, which is the most prominent annual scientific acknowledgement of academic and research achievements in Iraq, is sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The festival highlights illustrious institutions and individuals across various scientific fields that further higher education and research in Iraq, ultimately serving the broader society.
