Monthly Diverse Competitions
In line with Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for Women’s commitment to encouraging students to engage in reading and study—activities that refine the self, instill confidence, enhance dialogue and discussion skills, and contribute to building a conscious and distinctive society—the Central Library Department organizes a monthly competition dedicated to female students, focusing on the library and reading. The winner is honored with a prize presented by the esteemed University Presidency.
Competition: "Reading in a Book"
She is the mother of the two grandsons, the greatest proof of God upon the worlds, the fragrance of the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary, the word of piety, the firmest bond, the divine veil, the greater Mary, the middle prayer, and the human houri—through the knowledge of whom the earliest generations revolved. Owing to the importance of acquainting students with her virtues, the Central Library Department, under the patronage of the legitimate custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn (may his honor endure) and the esteemed President of Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for Women, organized a religious competition about Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her). The competition required students to select a book from the specialized library dedicated to Lady al-Zahra (peace be upon her), which contains approximately 480 titles, and prepare a summary of it. A significant number of female students from various university departments participated, and the winners were honored by the respected University Presidency.
Competition: "The Good Reader"
The Central Library Department at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for Women, under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) and the supervision of the esteemed President of the University, organized a special competition dedicated to books on human development. This initiative was undertaken due to the significance of such works, as they address human behavior, modes of thinking, life experiences, and contribute to the development of intellect and personality. A large number of female students from various departments of the university participated by reading and summarizing numerous developmental and cultural books available in the Human Development Section, which comprises more than 656 titles. The students who produced the most distinguished summaries were honored, while certificates of appreciation were also awarded to the other participating students.
1- Competition: "The Fragrance of Anticipation"
The Central Library Department at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for Women organized a special competition for female students, in collaboration with the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine – Umm al-Baneen Library (peace be upon her) – and Riyadh Al-Zahra Magazine (peace be upon her). The competition focused on the short story genre and revolved around the concept of anticipation, as such initiatives aim to cultivate the literary and cultural dimensions of the students. A considerable number of students from various university departments participated. To encourage them and motivate other students, letters of appreciation and recognition were presented to the participants.
