Central Library Department at Al-Zahraa University Presents Introductory Seminar Titled "A Reassuring Destination Towards Books"

As part of efforts to enhance academic knowledge and expand the horizons of scientific research in a smooth and efficient manner, and with the support and guidance of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women (peace be upon her),
Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the Central Library Department at Al-Zahraa University for Women organized a comprehensive introductory seminar dedicated to accessing printed and electronic book resources using the global classification system "Koha."

In this context, Mr. Marwan Abdul-Razzaq Matar, Head of University Libraries Development in the Research and Development Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized the importance of modern classification systems in facilitating access to information resources. The seminar was attended by several professors, researchers, and university students, who highlighted the development of research skills and more effective access to scientific resources. He also noted that the "Koha" classification system is one of the leading global systems used for library management and information resource organization, contributing to the acceleration of information retrieval and enhancing the quality of scientific research in Iraqi universities. This system provides a flexible electronic environment for managing university libraries, including regular data updates, streamlined book retrieval processes, and simplified borrowing and reference management.

It is noteworthy that the Central Library received first place in the Iraqi Science Day Award organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as it has provided a seamless and secure research environment along with book resources from reputable and reliable international publishing houses, adhering to global standards for advanced libraries. This seminar is part of ongoing efforts to develop the Central Library's infrastructure and enhance research skills among students and researchers, aligning with the latest global standards in the field of managing knowledge and scientific resources.
