Central Library Rules
Maintaining silence and tranquility inside the library.
Turning off the mobile phone or setting it to silent mode before entering the central library.
Placing the student’s belongings in the designated lockers located at the entrances of the central library.
Recording the student’s name / college – department – stage (mandatory) in the visitors’ register upon entering the library, which provides the opportunity to win the “Most Frequent Visitor” award that is distributed periodically at various university events.
Preserving the library’s property including books, reference materials, computers, and the like. It is not permitted to place any marks, writing, or annotations on them.
It is prohibited to connect any electronic devices to the research computers (electronic section). These are provided for searching printed sources (Al-Zahraa University catalog) and for searching modern sources through the websites approved in the electronic library.
Adopting the modern search mechanism through the barcode scanner of the central library catalog, which is distributed across university departments and colleges, and available through the university’s communication channels, students, and the library website, in addition to brochures and an instructional video explaining the new search mechanism according to the global KOHA standard system.
Not returning books to the shelves (mandatory) after reading and consultation. Seek assistance from the staff present to return them or leave them on the reading tables.
Borrowing Conditions
Bringing the student’s university ID card for the purpose of filling in her data according to the request form available in the electronic section (research computers).
The student must preserve the book from damage, as it is considered sacred and entrusted to the students.
The student is fined by compensating the source with two sources of the same specialization in case of damage or loss.
It is prohibited to annotate the pages of the book with any type of writing.
The borrowing period is five days, renewable when necessary and if not requested by another researcher.
The student is fined for each day of delay after the borrowing period with an amount of (1000) Iraqi dinars.
Library visitors from outside the university are permitted to borrow after filling out the designated written undertaking. Note that some sources are not available for external borrowing due to their rarity and being among the fundamental references.
Reminder: Respecting these rules ensures a distinguished educational environment for all university students.
